A macOS software factory

Small apps that fix the small stuff.

OpenSourcer builds quality-of-life utilities for the Mac — the kind of tools you open once, set up in a minute, and quietly rely on every day. Native Swift, local-first, one-time pricing.

  • 100% native Swift
  • No subscriptions
  • No telemetry, ever

The current lineup

Two apps, shipping now.

Each one earns its place on your Mac by removing a daily annoyance — and then staying out of the way.

DeskState

Workspace manager

Save your entire desk — every app, window, browser tab, and document — close it all with one click, and bring it back exactly as it was. Switch between work, side projects, and life without losing your place.

  • Capture & Close All — snapshot the whole workspace, then clear the desk in one move.
  • Exact restore — Safari, Chrome, Brave and Edge tabs, Excel workbooks, Finder windows, and window layouts come back where they were.
  • Profiles & schedules — one-click context switching, plus sessions that open and close themselves by time of day.
  • Smart triggers — react to a display being plugged in, a Wi-Fi network, or power state. Snapshot history means you can time-travel your desk.

Bouncer Bar

Menu bar manager

Your menu bar has a guest list now. Bouncer Bar decides which icons get in, which wait outside, and when the rules change — by time, display, power, or whatever app is in front.

  • Hide the clutter — collapse rarely-used icons behind a divider; bring them back with a click or a hotkey.
  • Zones & ordering — drag icons into always-visible, hidden, and pinned zones; Bouncer enforces the layout.
  • Rules that follow you — different layouts per screen, on a schedule, on battery vs. plugged in, or per app.
  • Power extras — search and reveal any hidden item, auto-rehide, icon spacing control, hover-expand, and a URL scheme for automation.

How the factory works

Opinionated about the boring parts.

01

Native or nothing

Every app is written in Swift with native frameworks. No Electron, no web views pretending to be windows. They launch fast and feel like macOS.

02

Pay once, own it

Free tiers that are genuinely useful, and Pro upgrades sold as one-time licenses. We don't believe a menu bar utility deserves a monthly bill.

03

Local-first privacy

Your sessions, layouts, and settings live in plain files on your Mac. No accounts, no telemetry, no analytics SDKs phoning home.

04

Small & sharp

Each app does one job extremely well instead of ten jobs adequately. If a feature doesn't serve the core idea, it doesn't ship.

Pricing

Simple, one-time pricing.

Start free. Upgrade once if the Pro features earn it. Every license covers all the Macs you personally use.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is this a subscription?

No. Pro licenses are one-time purchases. You pay once and the license is yours, including all minor updates for that major version. If we ever ship a paid major upgrade, existing customers get a discount — never a forced subscription.

What are the system requirements?

macOS 13 Ventura or later, on both Apple silicon and Intel Macs. Some features (like window-layout restore and menu bar reorganization) ask for the standard macOS Accessibility permission — the apps explain exactly why before asking.

How many Macs can I use a license on?

A license is per-person, not per-machine: install on every Mac you personally use (up to 3 active machines). Teams should buy one license per person.

What data do the apps collect?

None. There are no accounts, no telemetry, and no analytics. Your sessions and settings are stored as plain local files you can read, back up, or sync yourself. See the privacy policy.

What if it doesn't work for me?

Email us within 14 days of purchase and we'll refund you in full — no questions, no hoops. Details in the refund policy.

How do I get support?

Email support@opensrcr.com. It lands directly with the people who wrote the code, and we answer within two business days — usually much faster.
